FiFi awards

Given that its commercial was directed by Martin Scorsese and had a Rolling Stones soundtrack - and that it actually lived up to the hype by smelling phenomenal - Bleu de Chanel was the unsurprising winner at last night's FiFi Awards. The annual "fragrance Oscars", hosted by George Lamb, took place yesterday at London's Banquet House, where the nominees were put to the test by a judging panel comprising industry experts and readers alike. Choosing a signature scent can be tricky, but these successful smells from the FiFis are a good place to start...

MEN for JANUARY 2011

Men for January 2011

elmi practically got to know

this kid when Moksen first brought him to the skatepark in montkiara 2 years back.. all

quiet and all.. when time pass by he was a goofy as any other rollerblader i met out there, just younger haha but old at heart. even though still ne

w in the rollerblading industries, he really sparks out from the other, especially right after the BLADEROLLOGIST, i was amaze for someone to come out with the idea and making it happen big round of applause to elmi.. ywahhh.. respect this kid. well to all my friends that dont

know elmi, here a lil some-some for all of you. enjoy

Elmi ZUQUBERT

Nic: Introduce your self

Elmi: My brain works other way than others think.nocturnal.outspoken critic.useless.optimistic

unpredictable.dedicated.moroon.geeks.selfmotivate.nerds.sleep.eat.rollerblade.hate math.you can talk shit bout me.i take criticism very well..kill or be killed.ϟSΔP

Nic: haha nice introduction boy..so how are you and kendama? What do you

think of it?

Elmi: Kene racun dgn ED. Kendama is the real shit.…. Tapi sekarang dah malas…aha

Nic: Out of trend ke?

Elmi: Eehhh kalau kite orang tak main, takde trend...Seems like kendama can survive by its own. hehe

Nic: Do you consider yourself a trend setter?

Elmi: Nope! I just do whatever I like...

Nic: I see you like editing skate footage! Is that your passion?

Elmi: That is my hobby. Since I started skating I can’t find any interesting skate footage from Malaysia to inspire newbies to keep on skating and comparing their skill level with one another. So that is why it motivated me to shoot and edit. This is the entire important element to promote rollerblading in Mal

aysia and not just talk shit.

Nic: What sort of edit do you prefer the most?

Elmi: Favorite is Tour edit, because I love to travel.

Nic: Any destination you are off to this year?

Elmi: Paris, not a love city anymore. It’s actually where the rough people live. Others like Sabah & Sarawak skate park and Indonesia.

Nic: Paris? Damm! For what?

Elmi: I got an exam in Toulouse, France.

Nic: Still single, Elmi?

Elmi: Still single?

Nic: Anyone in mind?

Elmi: Many, hehe.. Actually only two. Currently on my mind is someone that study in Egypt and another one staying at Ampang. (Bukit Antarabangsa) hehe

Nic: Nice…focus on them both and you will for sure get them.

Nic: How long have you been skating?

Elmi: Right after SPM, 2004 eeemmm sekarang 2011 so dekat 7 tahun dah main, but still noobJ

Nic: I heard that you’re the founder of bladerollogist. Is that true?

Elmi: Uuhhh???

Nic: Eehh stop la serious ni. Cheers! hehe... What made you think of that name? You changed it a few times.

Elmi: Not really actually, I just added another L, semate2 nak nampakkan ayat ROLL … roughly the meaning of the bladerollogist is combination of “BLADE ROLL” “OGIST, someone doing study to discover something new”. Like Einstein!

Nic: Where did you get this inspiration from?

Elmi: Arlo Eisenberg camp...

Nic: How long was the planning?

Elmi: The idea was there for a year already, but the whole process took roughly 3 month to get everything together.

Nic: Consider you’re a big event boy now?

Elmi: That’s rubbish!

Nic: How many man powers involve?

Elmi: On the event itself around 4 people Erry, Syam,Fizi and my back bone for the event is Meme). Edosh help me out on my grammar and paperwork, bit rough on my French sorry for that. Need a PA...thanks to Sukeat and Idroose that contributed so much for the event.

Nic: what made you think of camp? Why camp?

Elmi: Is great to see all the rollerbladers in Malaysia together gather, gossiping, talking shit, getting drunk with free Red Bull, sharing the same passion, to have pleasure, shower together, share same boxer ha-ha... and just to have fun. This camp is the best way to mingle around with your local idol and friends whom you just met. This is the way to keep rollerbladers active and back join the scene. This camp means a lot to the local scene.

Nic: what were the activities during the camp?

Elmi: we had video premiere (nimh) which no longer exist...sadly... at the park we had ”trick sharing”

Nic: What is trick sharing?

Elmi: Basically skate clinic.

Nic: That’s all??

Elmi: We had competition for the grommet and night ledge battle (Iju) rollers, kita dapat sambutan yang menggalakkan daripada penaja, hadiah terlebih2 on the event itself we decided to make a competition for the OLD! (Luie). Joggling...

Nic: Joggling?

Elmi: It’s jogging and rolling together and of course rolling AM to PM with some sick audio system bang.

Nic: Any future plan bladerollogist?

Elmi: Eeemm you wait and see...

Nic: Don’t want to see. Lai-lai.

Elmi: P isap... eemmm I’m targeting it will be a yearly camp... but…. still no confirmation yet.

Nic: (result)

Elmi: COPY BLADEROLLOGIST.WORDPRESS.COM

Nic: Any sponsors involve?

Elmi: Most important thing ever without sponsor… there will be nothing... NO Bladerollogist!!

Nic: Who could sponsor, do you know?

Elmi: 2010 Doshieskate, 2011 not yet official hopefully Doshieskate once again.

Nic: Who inspired you?

Elmi: Dominic Sagona, Erik Bailey, Din (Ampang), Faiz (Ampang) and Moksen (Sarawak).

Nic: Who is your idol?

Elmi: Paul Arden, Annuar Ibrahim and Mahathir

Nic: Paul Arden? Who?

Elmi: Google yourself!

Nic: Idiot..

Nic: Big thanks to? Shout out?

Elmi: Big thanks to Nic (local roller bladders gay founder – checkout ice&co mannn.. :P) Thanks for giving so much effort to interview me.. ALLL THE SPONSOR for bladerollogist camp! Oh maann... thanks to my family, friends, sponsors, lecturers, ustaz & ustazah.
